A pair of events in Greenwood will allow shoppers to revel in deals as they gear up for the spring season.

Greenwood Vintage Market’s Spring Handmade Market, which takes place March 1, will feature a variety of hand-crafted, unique gifts – everything from clothing to art to edible goodies.

Also that weekend, Feb. 28 – March 2, Greenwood’s Main Street will become a shopper’s paradise, with spring open houses at the town’s antique stores. 

If you can’t make it, don’t worry; another open house weekend will take place March 7-9.

Have a little fun down on the farm with this toy, collectibles show

 

The Tri-State Toy and Collectibles Show returns to the Army National Guard Armory in Norton, March 8.

Dealers from three states will be on site, selling old and new farm toys, as well as trucks, trains, NASCAR, and Hotwheels toys.
Admission to the show is $2 for anyone older than 12 (kids are free with an adult), and a concession stand will sell snacks for hungry attendees.

The Winterfest Flea Market, Antique and Junk Festival is returning to Lincoln with winter deals on a variety of items. The event takes place Feb. 2-23 at the Lancaster Event Center.

More than 100 vendors will be on site, selling antiques and collectibles, furniture, advertising, glassware, pottery, dolls, toys, comics, signs, primitives, repurposed items, yard art, flea market finds, and handcrafted goods, among others. Parking for the event is free.

Get ready for a spectacular time at Antique Spectacular

 

You never know just what you’ll find at the Antique Spectacular Vintage Market, March 7-9 at the QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island.

Items from the quirky to the rusty to the funky will be up for grabs at the show. Antique Spectacular is the brainchild of Kimberly Schilling, who, along with her Melting Pot Productions, has been producing antique shows throughout the Midwest for nearly 30 years. Schilling has “developed a foundation for success built on the integrity of demanding quality antiques and collectibles,” according to the event’s website.

Admission to the event is $8, with a $1-off coupon available at www.antiquespectacular.com. Children under the age of 14 are free when accompanied by an adult with a ticket.

If you’re interested in or collect items related to the military, the Leavenworth Militaria Show and Sale is not to be missed.

Taking place Feb. 8 at the Riverfront Community Center, you can buy, sell, or trade military collectibles from any war and any time period. Admission to the event is only $3, and dealer tables remain available at $25 each.

Head to Greenwood for Summit Country Antique Show

 

If it’s the start of a new year, that means it’s also time for the Summit Country Antique Show, to take place Feb. 1 at Greenwood Vintage Market in Greenwood.

The twice-yearly show features a variety of early country antique dealers selling a variety of primitive furniture, smalls and primitive handmades. The other show usually takes place on the the second Saturday in September.

The Summit Country Antiques Show will take place in the lower level of the Greenwood Mercantile from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. General admission is $5.

The C.W. Parker Carousel Museum’s tradition of selling cost-effective gifts to the little elves in your family continues with its 19th Annual Children’s Small Mall, Dec. 7-8 at the museum in Leavenworth.

Children ages 3-13 can buy a variety of $5-$7 gifts for their loved ones; this is the 19th year for the event. Shoppers can stick around for a free carousel ride as well.
