Jesse James Antique Mall and The Rusty Chandelier in St. Joseph are giving antique lovers the opportunity to work on their tan while doing a little shopping.

The stores will host their Vintage Garden Flea Market on Saturday, May 9, as well as the first of their parking lot flea markets on June 20.

More than 30 dealers will be on site, and shoppers can feed their hunger with food trucks on site. The remaining two markets will take place Aug. 22 and Sept. 26.

Bella Rustina Vintage Market is returning to Conway just in time for spring, with a show April 24-26 at the Conway Expo Center.

Shoppers are invited to come marvel at more than 300 booths, stuffed with vintage, vintage-inspired and handmade items brought in from sellers from multiple states.

Train show returns to town

All aboard! The Greater Tulsa Area Train Show is pulling into town when it returns to Broken Arrow, April 24-25 at the Rhema Ninowski Recreation Center.

Sponsored by the Heartland Toy Train Association, the show will feature a variety of scales, gauges, makes, and models. This year will feature a kids train set giveaway and other door prizes. As always, the show will include an extensive assortment of toy trains on display.

The Heartland Toy Train Association covers Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, and Colorado.

Admission to the April show is $10 per adult; kids 12 and younger are free with an adult ticket purchase. Early bird hours on the 24th will be 5-7 p.m., and the show on the 25th will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The annual Mennonite Relief Sale is coming April 10-11 to the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.

The event, always chock full of handcrafted goods made by the local Mennonite community, includes a quilt auction, a general auction, tasty food, and live entertainment.

Also on deck for Saturday, April 11: a morning Run for Relief, breakfast served until 10 a.m., a children’s auction, a surplus auction, and vehicles on display.

If that isn’t enough to satisfy your hunger, the event is bring ing back “Feeding the Multitude,” twice-daily servings of verenike (dumplings similar to pierogi with both savory and sweet fillings), sausage, borscht, and bohne berrogi (a bean-filled dough bun topped with sweet cream sauce). This is the event’s 58th year.

Elsie Bell’s welcoming warmer weather with parking lot sale

Grab your shopping bags and head outside, because Elsie Bell’s Antique Mall in Independence will host a parking lot sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, outside the store, 1101 S. Crysler.

This is a biannual event that gives the store’s dealers – more than 30 of them – an opportunity to clean out and refresh their booths, offering shoppers a chance to get good deals on great antiques, vintage items, collectibles, and junk.

Tables are still available to rent at $20 per space, payable in cash at the store. Vendors must bring their own tables, chairs, tent, water, sunscreen, and change, as sales won’t be run through the store’s register. The event takes place rain or shine.
