 If you’ve ever shopped at The Market at Macvicar in Topeka, you’ve likely met their resident market cat and beloved mascot, Karl (as the face of the store, he goes by many names, including “the Boss”).

The store will host a birthday celebration on Oct. 17 for their favorite feisty feline, complete with delectable birthday treats and discounts from multiple vendors, too.

Sweet deals to be found at Sugar Mound

The Sugar Mound Annual Arts and Crafts Festival is here to sweeten your season, Oct. 10-11 at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Mound City.

More than 400 booths will be set up, with plenty of arts, crafts, and food for sale. Stop by the antique barn on site for the perfect fall photo opp, too. Admission to the festival and parking are both free. The festival has taken place since 1971.

Get started on Christmas at Pilgrim House on the Bluff

Shawnee’s Pilgrim House on the Bluff is having Christmas in October! Come shop for vintage and antique holiday decorations along with 50% off all jewelry and fall/winter clothing during their Second Saturday event, October 10. 

Come for the shopping and stay for the view. The gorgeous 19th-century home, situated just 100 feet above the Kaw River Valley, is a hot spot where you can find antiques, vintage items, garden décor, funky bohemian clothing and jewelry, and linens. They are open on the second Saturday of each month, as well as by appointment.
