Shopping events get the holiday season off to a good start

Most antique and vintage merchants delight in hosting an open house during the holiday season, welcoming shoppers with special treats, holiday music, and beautiful decorations.

Paramount Antique Mall and Paramount Marketplace in Wichita enjoy the tradition and go all out to impress and pamper their patrons. They will host their open houses Nov. 8-10. Shoppers can enjoy a 10% discount throughout both stores. Shop for everyone on your list at Greenwood’s annual Holiday Handmade Market

Ring in the holiday season at Greenwood Vintage Market, which will host its annual Holiday Handmade Market on Nov. 9 in Greenwood. This event is part of the second Holiday Open House weekend in the Greenwood Antique District.

More than 50 vendors will be on hand, selling crafts, seasonal décor, and homemade goodies. The market “provides shoppers with a perfect opportunity to find one-of-a-kind gifts and decorations while supporting local creators,” according to an Oct. 3 post on the market’s Facebook page.

“Visitors can expect to find a wide variety of items, including handmade jewelry, pottery, textiles, candles, and holiday-themed crafts. Attending a Holiday Handmade Market not only allows you to discover unique treasures but also helps support your local community.”

Big toy show offers a jump on holiday shopping

The Midwest Collectors Toy Show will be the place to be this month to find vintage toys of all kinds, games, cars, trucks and more, to delight kids of all ages on your holiday gift list. This year, the show will be held at the Downtown Souix City Convention Center and boasts more than 300 tables of antique and collectible toys by dealers from several states.
